This is a rare, precious, and deeply deserved recognition.
On July 11, Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard, founder of the fine perfume house Rose et Marius, received the National Order of Merit, one of France’s highest honors.
The decoration was awarded by President Emmanuel Macron and solemnly and emotionally presented by President Christine Lagarde, former minister and current President of the European Central Bank, during a memorable ceremony at the Lodges Sainte Victoire.

An Ambassador of Provence
Since founding Rose et Marius in 2012, Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard has continued to promote Provence throughout the world. Inspired by her sunny childhood in the South of France, she founded a unique Haute Parfumerie brand, synonymous with refinement, authenticity, and the Provençal art of living.
Each creation, whether scented candles or exceptional perfumes, tells a story, evokes a memory, celebrates a place or an emotion. Many of these fragrant creations are inspired by the magnificent city of Aix-en-Provence, where Magali lives and where she decided to open her only flagship store. Indeed, in defiance of rampant globalization, Rose et Marius is a Provençal brand that can be fully and exclusively discovered in Provence.
Located at 3 rue Thiers, opposite Hermès. Designed as her grandmother Rose’s country house, where she spent all her summers, Magali welcomes her clients as guests in her refined perfumed world. On the ground floor is the boutique, on the first floor are the bespoke perfume creation workshops
Driven by a commitment to quality and a deep commitment to local craftsmanship, the Rose et Marius brand has recently expanded internationally through retailers, notably the Bogart Group’s perfume boutiques, primarily in Slovakia, Germany, Belgium, Israel, and the Middle East. It has also expanded into the USA, with its new dedicated website, online since July 2025, its warehouses based in San Diego, and its sophisticated and selective distribution in the finest niche perfumeries and home decor boutiques.
Rose et Marius has successfully attracted a clientele sensitive to committed luxury, fine materials, and the poetry of the senses.
Recognition that transcends borders
Receiving the National Order of Merit is a tribute to much more than an entrepreneurial career: it recognizes a vision, an ability to bring a culture to life, to share it, and to export it without ever betraying it. Christine Lagarde, who personally presented the insignia to Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard, highlighted “this woman’s exceptional contribution to the promotion of French excellence and to the image of a contemporary, creative, and inspiring Provence.”
A committed and inspiring woman
Beyond her commercial success, Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard is committed to fostering local expertise, supporting artisans, and actively participating in the transmission of an elegant and authentic Provence.
Sustainable development has been a core value since the brand’s creation, notably by eliminating plastic, offering wonderful, refillable, locally sourced items, and being a major player in inclusivity. Magali embodies a demanding and bold female entrepreneurship, at the intersection of creativity and heritage.
An Ever Brighter Future
This distinction marks an important milestone, but certainly not an end in itself.
Rose et Marius continues its development, with new projects, artistic collaborations, and an unwavering ambition: to offer the world the sensory treasures of Provence and promote the excellence of Provence beyond our borders.
Congratulations to Magali Fleurquin-Bonnard for this distinguished award and for the inspiration she offers to all those who believe in the power of roots, beauty, and truth.
